*Def:
Precicious puberty is the appearence of appropriate sec. Sexual characters before the age of 8 years and occupance of menstruation before 10years of chronological age.
*Causes:
1.endocrine disorder 2.familial associations 3.abnormalities in the ovaries, testicles, or adrenal glands 4.structural problems in the brain 5.tumors that release hormones (estrogen, testosterone, etc.)
*clinical features :
it may: 1.induce earlybone maturationand reduce eventual adult height 2.indicate the presence of a tumor or other serious problem
:*treatment
GnRh analogue are used as follows
1 Gnrh 100 micrograms intranasaly b.d for6 MONTHS .2.ONCE month INJECTION Of depot gnrh 3.6 oh im for 6 month.
Prolonged therapy can cause osteoporosis.
